Tony Stubbs Contact Tony

Thomas A. (Tony) Stubbs started his insurance career in March of 1979, and now handles the Employee Benefit programs of many employers across the Southeast. Although he works in the areas of life, disability, dental and payroll deduction, he enjoys focusing on self-funded medical plans. Our clients deserve the highest level of service available and at Trinity Benefit Advisors; we make it our "Standard."

Tony has been honored by the General Agents and Managers Association as their Agent of the Year. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, where he served two terms as State Legislative Chairman, and is active in Toastmasters International and has received their Distinguished Toastmaster's designation. Tony is also a member of NAIC.

Chris Poynter Contact Chris

Chris Poynter is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and started his insurance career in April of 1989 with Provident Life and Accident which became UnumProvident. Throughout a 13-year career, he was ultimately promoted to Senior Market Manager with responsibilities for Florida and all operations in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Southwest Illinois. After a short stay at Willis of Tennessee, Chris (along with Tony Stubbs and Drew Mann) founded Trinity Benefit Advisors because he wanted a best-in-class, independent-minded firm dedicated to his clients' best interests.

Chris' background has given him the opportunity to work with many large multi-state employers using many funding vehicles. That said, he enjoys using that knowledge to also bring large employer benefits to the small and mid-sized employers.

Chris has won numerous industry and company awards throughout his career earning partners group and exceptional producer status. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and has been published in several industry publications.

Drew Mann Contact Drew

Drew began his career in the insurance business in 1990. While still an undergraduate at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky., he began working for Van Meter Insurance Agency, a regional employee benefits consulting and brokerage firm. Upon receiving his degree, Drew was hired full time and was given the responsibility of servicing clients and pursuing prospects in the employee benefit division.

Throughout his 13-year tenure in Kentucky, Drew worked with employers from all over the Southeast and Midwest including Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana. His primary focus was on reducing healthcare costs to employers and the overall management of employee benefit programs.

In 2003, First Tennessee Bank acquired Van Meter and selected Drew to open a regional employee benefit brokerage and consulting office in Knoxville. While working with the executives at First Tennessee, Drew saw the need for a locally-owned, independent firm to serve East Tennessee for benefit brokerage and consulting services.

As well as being one of a handful of Endorsed Brokers, Drew also serves as a member of the HC21 Board of Directors.

Robert Peace Contact Robert

Robert joined the Trinity team in March 2014. He has ten years of experience in management and sales/investment management. Robert worked for J. Randal Greaves as an Executive Associate developing an operating budget and capital plan. He also prepared a business plan for a newly incorporated division of the company. Robert went on to work at Hogan Hardwoods where he won numerous regional awards. Robert also worked as a general manager for Brazos Forest Products and Jenkins Brick Company; he managed human resources in addition to daily operational needs. Each of these businesses became more efficient and productive during Robert’s years of management. Robert moved to Knoxville in 1999 to join the University of Tennessee football team, lettering all four years, and graduated early in 2003 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He met his wife, Courtney Fulmer, while at UT and remained in Knoxville. He and Courtney have two children, J.P. and Tori.

He has 10 years of employee benefits consulting experience and loves the challenge of saving his clients’ money on their benefits without compromising the quality of the plan for their employees. The employee benefits world is changing rapidly and he prides himself with staying ahead of the market and bringing his clients innovative solutions and the latest services to maximize the appreciation of their employee benefits package.

He has been married since 2000 to Amanda and has a son named Hayden and a daughter named Megan. When not working he enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, and anything to do with the outdoors.

Rick credits his success by following the simple motto of treating everyone like he would want to be treated.

Tony has 25-plus years experience in employee benefits, provider contracting and medical claims processing, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the group. His career includes eight years as a Medical Claims Supervisor and Provider Relations Manager for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, two years as Medical Claims Manager for Cariten Healthcare, and nine years as an Employee Benefits Manager in human resources with The Baptist Health System of East Tennessee and with Mckee Foods. Tony's experience working in the claims departments for high-volume carriers gives him an inside perspective on the process and is helpful to our clients who may experience claims issues. Prior to joining Trinity Benefit Advisors in July of 2006, Tony was a Senior Client Manager at Willis of Tennessee.

Tony is a 1980 graduate of The University of Tennessee and holds a B.S. in business administration. He is a past president of the Tennessee Valley Human Resources Association.

Sandy Wright Contact Sandy

Sandy began her career in Employee Benefits in 1977 working for a Third Party Administrator in Atlanta, GA. After moving to Knoxville, TN she joined Kanawha Healthcare Solutions where her role was Assistant Vice President and Claims Manager. Sandy was then with TIS Insurance Services, Inc. from January 1999 through December 2011 and served clients with benefit plan design and analysis and self-funded plan management.

She joined Trinity Benefit Advisors in January 2012 as a Senior Client Manager. She holds the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Registered Employee Benefits Consultation (REBC) and is in the process of completing her Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.

Amy joined the team at Trinity in March 2014 as a Senior Client Manager. Her primary responsibilities include managing the day to day needs of our clients, plan analysis and marketing.

Amy began her career in Employee Benefits by working as a Benefits Administrator for DenTek Oral Care. Amy moved to TIS Insurance Services in 2002 where she worked as an Account Manager in the Employee Benefits Division for 3 years before moving to the Client Technology Coordinator position. In that role, Amy was responsible for the promotion and implementation of all client web-based solutions for both health and property & casualty clients. In 2008, Amy moved to Willis of Tennessee and worked in Employee Benefits Client Management. While at Willis, Amy recognized her passion for wellness and earned the National Wellness Institute’s Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist and Certified Worksite Wellness Program Manager designations.

Amy has earned the following industry designations: Health Insurance Associate, Managed Healthcare Professional, Healthcare Customer Service Associate, Business Process Advisor, and Employee Health Benefit Associate. She also maintains Tennessee Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses. Amy is also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and is currently working toward the ACE Health Coach certification.

Katie Burkhardt Contact Katie

Katie joined the team at Trinity Benefit Advisors in June 2012 as a Client Manager. Her primary responsibilities include managing the day to day needs of our clients, plan analysis and marketing. Before joining Trinity, Katie worked in Employee Benefits Account Management for TIS Insurance Services and The Company Benefits Store here in Knoxville.

Prior to her career in the insurance world, Katie worked in corporate retail for The United Methodist Publishing House for five years as a Retail Systems Analyst and then for Goody's Family Clothing for two years as a Merchandise Analyst. After Goody's closed, she decided that it was time for a career change and that is what led her to Employee Benefits. Katie says that the move to Employee Benefits is one of the best decisions that she has ever made. She thoroughly enjoys her work and being able to help our clients.

Katie received her B.S. in Business Management with a Concentration in Human Resources from the University of Tennessee.

Misty SnyderContact Misty

As of May 2016, Misty joined the Trinity team as a Senior Client Manager after spending almost 16 years with Willis Towers Watson in Knoxville.

Misty has first-hand experience working with groups of all industries and sizes, and is knowledgeable of the various Employee Benefit product offerings. She has specialized in areas such as Customer Service, Communications, Technology, Compliance and Operations. This unique background has allowed her to provide critical thinking and a big picture perspective in delivering client solutions. She consults with our clients on topics such as consumer-driven health care, total rewards and communication strategies, health care reform, and reporting and analytics. She is dedicated to delivering an exceptional client experience by striving to exceed expectations on a daily basis.

Upon completion of schooling, Misty immediately joined the workforce and spent the next 6 years cultivating her service background. She got first-hand health insurance experience working at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. She also enjoyed working in Human Resources, with a focus on HRIS & Pre-Employment Screening, for SCGroup, a property management company in El Paso, Texas. After moving back to the great state of Tennessee, she spent two years in Customer Service for BellSouth Telecommunications before relocating to Knoxville.

Misty holds a Life and Health Insurance License and actively participates in continuing education opportunities.

Knoxville is “home” to Misty and her husband Adam since they moved here in 2000. They are both huge animal lovers and enjoy working outside in their garden and on home improvement projects. In addition to traveling, they love camping and spending time at Norris Lake. Misty is involved in charitable organizations including the United Way of Greater Knoxville and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

Christine Reid Contact Christine

In June 2017, Christine joined Trinity Benefit Advisors as a Senior Client Manager. Christine has capably worked with Medicare, fully-insured and self-insured clients of various sizes. Her experience with claims resolution, marketing, contract reviews, HR and compliance assistance, and more, add great value to our team. Christine works diligently to partner with clients developing and implementing various benefits, wellness programs, employee communications strategies and cost control strategies, helping her clients achieve short- and long-term goals.

Christine passionately believes in full customer service, believing she is an extension of each HR team assigned, developing a true partnership. Previously, she spent five years with Willis Towers Watson in Knoxville, and was employed by Humana/Cariten Healthcare for 16 years prior. Her experience included Utilization Management, Credentialing, Provider Relations, Medicare and Commercial Sales. In Medicare Sales, she worked with the compliance department, Medicare audits, and was over the Senior Sales Staff’s day to day operation and seminars. Christine has also worked as Manager of Sales Administration for large and small group throughout the state of Tennessee, responsible for overseeing implementation and processes for new and existing groups.

Jamie Cragwall Contact Jamie

Jamie joined Trinity Benefit Advisors in February of 2014. She began her career in Human Resources as the Benefit and Wellness Manager at Edfinancial Services, where she was responsible for the day to day management of the company’s employee benefits. She also helped develop and implement the company’s wellness program and many wellness initiatives. She spent much of her time maintaining the vendor relationships, new hire training for benefits and wellness, event planning, as well as writing blogs and educational material for the company’s intranet site. Jamie then moved onto work for a benefit consulting company where she helped establish new relationships for the company, developed new marketing materials, and assisted in the writing and responding to bid proposals. Throughout her time in the benefit industry, Jamie realizes the importance of customer care and brings with her a sense of urgency when assisting her clients.

Prior to her career in benefits, Jamie was on the University of Tennessee dance team and went on to be a professional dancer in Atlanta and New York City. In her spare time, she now actively trains for and competes in triathlons.

Katie DotsonContact Katie

After graduating in 2008 with a B.A. in Marketing, Katie worked for three years for an employee benefit law firm in Knoxville. She then expanded her marketing expertise at Renewal by Andersen working as Marketing Manager for three years. It was there that she aggressively expanded the Renewal by Andersen brand throughout Knoxville and Nashville by developing new marketing avenues including building an internal call, implementing go-get marketing strategies and improving traditional marketing effectiveness. Katie joined Trinity in the summer of 2015, and focuses her efforts on internal and external marketing and communications, publication design and office management.

Katie is an active triathlete, runner and fitness enthusiast, and enjoys helping others improve their overall fitness and wellness through long-term simple health changes.

Danae PowersContact Danae

Office Coordinator

Danae joined Trinity Benefit Advisors in 2017 as Office Coordinator. She supports the Trinity team and clients with communications, benefit guides, enrollment systems, and much more. Danae holds an Associates of Arts and Applied Science in Business Administration from Pellissippi State Community College.

Outside of helping clients with a notable smile, you may find Danae listening to music, enjoying time with friends and traveling.

An experienced and proven Certified Public Accountant, Beth has been Trinity's Chief Financial Officer since its inception and gives Trinity 28 years of public accounting experience. She has expertise in corporate tax, auditing, payroll, bookkeeping, corporate software feasibility and application, and business operations management. Beth brings to Trinity a broad prospective regarding financial management. She has served as the Chief Financial Officer and designer of a multi-faceted pension plan for a large, multi-national communications contractor, and she has owned her own accounting firm. As such, she understands the needs of all organizations regardless of their size and domain of endeavor.

Rachel Humphreys joined Trinity in 2008. Prior to that, she worked as the Human Resources Manager at Landair Transport. During the 4 years she was with Landair, she was responsible for the day to day management of the company's employee benefits, recruiting office staff and personnel, orientation of new hires, corporate event planning, open enrollment, and a variety of other tasks as needed. She learned firsthand how diverse the role of a company's Human Resource staff can be, and she understands the day to day pressure our clients' HR staff faces as they face deadlines, assist employees with a variety of needs, and work to meet corporate goals. Since joining Trinity, Rachel has used her HR background to assist clients with day to day issues, work with employees one on one, as well as meeting the marketing needs of her clients. Rachel and her husband Philip welcomed their first daughter, Addison in May 2011.

Megan is a Senior Client Manager who is committed to providing the best service in the industry to her clients. Megan joined Trinity Benefit Advisors after working for several years with Lockton Companies, where she gained extensive knowledge in the Employee Benefits industry. During her tenure at Lockton, Megan managed all aspects of employee welfare programs, advising employers on plan design and facilitating on-going support of group benefit programs. Her key areas of focus include preferred provider network evaluation, plan funding, benefit design, eligibility management, administrative efficiency, and health risk management/wellness.

Megan’s background includes experience in operations, human resource management, occupational health and worker’s compensation, and behavioral therapy for children with autism. Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Health Management and Master of Business Administration.
